The seekers of traditional missiles are often designed in hemisphere or part ofhemisphere. The hemisphere fairings bring about little aberrations which are almostthe same when the seekers scan the target. And the optical design of the hemisphereis simple. By the theory of the aerodynamics in the high speed seekers, thehemisphere fairings will run up against strong resistance when the missiles arehighly speeding. So it will be not suitable for high speed missiles. Given the theoryof the aerodynamics in the high speed seekers, the fairing of the seekers must bedesigned in the type of streamline, which is the conformal dome. The conformaldome can improve the performance of the missiles, but also makes the opticalsystem more difficult to be designed. The conformal dome brings about the dynamicaberrations changing with the fie ld of view, which decrease the images qualityseriously and should be corrected.In this paper a conformal optical system has been designed. A pair ofphase-plates which are contrarotated in the same angles around the optical axis wereput into use to scan the fie ld of view dynastically. Because of the dynastically scan,the correcting system and imaging system can maintain fixed. The conformal opticalsystem includes two parts: the correcting system and the imaging system. Thecorrecting system contains the fixed corrector, the contrarotated phase-plates, theZernike phase-plates and the diffraction elements. The diffraction surface is on thefixed corrector. The imaging optical system was designed with the transmissive typehaving the intermediate image, whose cold stop efficiency is100%. The imagingsystem can compensate some aberrations of the system.In the dissevt, the thermo analys is and athermalization design for the conformaloptical system with a pair of phase-plates were carried through. After theathermalization design, the conformal dome system can maintain stable and goodimaging quality after the athermalization design from-40℃to60℃.
