The data of typical transmission line tower disasters of the Shaoguan area of Guangdong province has been analysed in this paper, The disaster factor has been determined preliminarily. The research of the stability of transmission line tower slope on conditions of rainfall has been done by theoretical analysis、model test、field test and numerical simulation. The main achievements are as follows:(1) The analysis methods of slope stability and its research status has been introduced. The research of soil erosion model and its development trend has been expounded.(2) The data of typical transmission line tower disasters in Shaoguan area of Guangdong Province has been collected and analyzed. And the disaster factor has been determined by those.(3) The model test of rainfall erosion and field test of rainfall erosion has been carried out.The influence law of the soil in different dry densities effects on the slope erosion has been obtained. The erosion rule of completely weathered granite in the rainfall condition of Shaoguan area has been got. The serious erosion degree of difficulty of three kinds of whole weathered granite has been analysed. The influence of erosion degree with sand and clay particle contents has been discussed. The safety evaluation model which was use to determine whether occurrence of serious surface erosion has been established.(4) It has been assumed that the surface flow has been formation in a short time.(The effect of splash erosion has been ignored and the erosion process of slope has been simplified). The total initiative force of soil particle has been deduced on the base of Manning equation. The expression between the critical slope and the influence factors has been obtained.(5) The soil erosion of slope on the condition of rainfall has been simulated by COMSOL Multiphysics. The erosion of soil particle which was on the surface of slope has been reflected by the water velocity. The critical grade of slope erosion on the condition of rainfall has been found by simulated the slope of different angle. The result is consistent with the actual situation.
