As bridges playing an important role in the transportation network,the healthy status ofbridges are becoming more and more important. The Guantouba bridge is located in the Wencounty of Gansu province. It is one of the double chain suspension bridges in Gansu Provincewhich has the maximum carrying capacity. The bridge is an important communicationconnecting Gansu province with Shaanxi Province and Sichuan Province. The completion ofthe bridge could be dating back to20years ago. In the geographical location of the bridge,the earthquakes, landslides and other geological disasters occurred frequently. Along with therapid economic development, the traffic flow increases rapidly. The safety and durability ofthe bridge are facing a severe test.In this paper, taking the Guantouba bridge as the research object, according to the riskanalysis of the bridge, the vibration monitoring system was established, which includes themonitoring sections and the monitoring content. To meet the requirement and the specificstructure analysis of the bridge, the vibration monitoring system was designed and installedon Guantouba Bridge. The system includes the sensor module, the data acquisition moduleand the data analysis module. The monitoring date analysis can show the bridge vibrationtrends clearly. The date management system can provide warning information in time whenthe monitoring data exceeded the warning value or when the emergencies occurred.The system can monitor the size, direction, frequency and the law of the vibration force.The application of the system can help the managers to grasp the vibration of the bridge andto discover the abnormal of bridge structure earlier. It can provide a reliable guarantee for thesafely operation. The research results of this thesis not only can be used to monitor thevibration of the bridge, but also can provide a reference for other bridges. And it has acertain amount of theoretical and practical value.
