In recent years, Along with the increase of cross-sea and cross-river tunnels, theconstruction of immersed tube method gets attention gradually. Joints are weak but significantlinks in immersed tube tunnels. Misplace and opening of the immersed tunnel joint due to theuneven pipe section settlement can bring great threat to the safety of shear key on immersedtunnel joint. So carrying out the research of the experimental study and theoretical analysis onmechanical behavior of immersed tube tunnel section Joint has very important practical value.Relying on the Hongkong-zhuhai-macao bridge engineering, this paper used the model testand numerical simulation methods to analyze immersed tube tunnel section joint. The specificresearch results are:1. For research and development of large scale subgrade settlement platform, themultifunctional test load settlement test platform was finished which can undertake a largescale test.2. Through experiment and numerical analysis, the section joint shear key stressinfluence which caused by uneven settlement was determined.3. Based on the test results of different working conditions, we found that The impact onAdjacent section joints which caused by Differential settlement between the pipe joint isrelatively small.4. Based on a detailed analysis of various typical working conditions, the position ofvarious typical working conditions which was the most unfavorable stress and loaddistribution of each shear key was determined.
