With the developing of social living standard, the car ownership around the world isincreasing year by year. Fossil energy consumption and exhaust emission brought byinternal combustion engine cars have becoming one of the main factors which cause theenvironment and energy problems. Generalizing electric vehicles in the automotiveindustry is an effective way to reduce environmental pollution and save energy, anddeveloping electric vehicles is a general trend all over the world. The technical bottleneckthat restricts the generalization of electrical vehicles is their limited driving distance, andregenerative braking technology can solve this bottleneck through recovering brakeenergy. Appropriate regenerative braking control strategy could improve the efficiency ofbraking energy recovery, and its rationality can be evaluated by the further developmentof ADVISOR which could model and simulate the regenerative braking strategy.This paper researches the development status and technical factors of regenerativebraking technology on the basis of ascertaining its importance. High energy recoveryefficiency is the critical factor of regenerative braking system, and through analyzing itscomposition and operational principle, we determine that the distribution of braking forcemainly influences the energy recovery efficiency indirectly. According to parameters ofthe pure electric vehicle researched on this paper and ECE braking regulations, we designa regenerative braking control strategy which is aimed at ensuring braking stability andimproving energy recovery efficiency. The model of the regenerative braking controlstrategy based on ECE braking regulations is built through mending its default models ofADVISOR. The result of simulation indicates that regenerative braking control strategydesigned on this paper can ensure the braking stability and use regenerative braking forceefficiently as well as improve the energy recovery efficiency.Researching about the regenerative braking control strategy on this paper establishesthe foundation of theory and practical application.
