With the rapid development of economic, the construction of mining, road, waterconservancy, generated a large number of artificial exposed slope.The slope can not onlycause soil erosion, landslide, debris flow disasters can cause the occurrence, also destroyedthe original vegetation, causing damage to the ecological environment. Slope protection byvegetation slope protection relative to other engineering measures, not only in the engineeringcharacteristics play a role in reinforcement, landscape and environment effects but also canplay the vegetation. In view of the previous studies mainly focused on the reinforcementeffect of herb roots, and the arbor and shrub plants with deep root research. In this paper, pine,eucalyptus and Buddleja officinalis root, analysis of the interaction between soil and roots,and by means of testing and finite element analysis, studies the root to the reinforcementeffect on soil from. Research results obtained by:1. Through indoor direct shear test and tensile test on site, the root of soil shear strength,tensile strength and impact resistance, test results show that, when the slope root afterimplantation, the shear strength increases with root soil slope; root tensile strength withincrease of root and stem decreased; tensile strength with rhizomes showed a tendency toincrease.2. By using the finite element software ABAQUS, established the modle of the slopehaving no roots, the slope containing one root(plant the root which is3m deep at1m to thefoot of the slope, plant the root which is3m deep at1m to the top of the slope, plant the rootwhich are2m and3m deep respectively at the middle of the slope) and plant the root which is3m deep at the top、the middle and the foot of the slope, through calculation and analysis, theresults can reflect the reinforcement of roots on slope accurately.3. According to the theoretical analysis of plants selection and allocation of communities,concluded that, in order to make the slope protection with vegetation reach the ideal effect, itshould select the vegetation having strong resistance and adapting to the local climate and soilconditions. When establish the communities system, it should follow the communitysuccession and biodiversity.
