Curved bridge has become an important bridge style and been widely adopted in themodern transportation projects because of its flexible connectivity and beautiful appeara-nce. However, due to the lack of knowledge of this new kind of bridge type, many defectshave been exposed recently which caused a significant negative impact on the society.They are mostly radial displacement or the torsional deformation of the beam caused bythe temperature changes, the prestressing force as well as the centrifugal force of thevehicle on the bridge, etc. Many experts and scholars have done some in-depth researchon the effect of the temperature changes and prestressing force on the bridge, but littleresearch has been carried out about the influence of the centrifugal force of the vehicleson the bridge.The calculation method of centrifugal force value of domestic norms was listedfirstly, and the calculated value was compared with the United States and Britain’s.Then,taking a specific project as example, it used the dynamic analysis softwareANSYS/LS-DYNA to simulate and analyze the centrifugal force generated by vehiclesmoving on curved bridge. Emphasis had been laid on the influence of the car speed andits route’s curvature on the centrifugal force. In the end, the dynamic response of the piercolumns of different height under centrifugal force was analyzed in this paper.Some suggestions and serves as a reference for calculating the centrifugal force hadbeen proposed through the above research work, which could better approach thepractical situation.
