The quality of the assembled shield segments rarely under control. Recent years, thequality problem such as the metro shield tunnel segment dislocated and damaged keepsbothering the construction managers. In2008, China’s Ministry of Housing issued “Codefor construction and acceptance of shield tunneling method”, it gives a detailed controlspecification of assembled segment’s quality. The phenomena such as dislocated segmentusually happen in a long while after the completion of the shield segment assembled. Theearlier the workers know the phenomena happen, the faster they can take effectivemeasures to avoid greater loss. So how to discover the problem as quick as possiblebecomes quite important. After taking the above problems into account, this thesis set about to study aneffective method to judge the quality of subway shield segment. Taking Wuhan SecondMetro Line’s shield tunnel work as a research background, this thesis try to build a shieldsegment visual detection technology to detect the quality of shield segment in real-time.The detection technology combines Augmented Reality skill which is currently widelyused in the engineering field. This paper illustrates the common problems in the assemblejob of the subway segment and analyses their causes. Also, the paper summaries the keytechnology of Augmented Reality, and illustrates the application of the Augmented Realityin the field of engineering. The analysis of the functional modules required for the subwayshield segment visual detection technology is firstly completed. Take that as a basic study, the following work focus on the constitution of hardware and software required for shieldsegment quality visual detection. As a final work, a detailed example to check the subwayshield segment dislocation is given. In the example, a detailed description of theimplementation process and the clear steps to achieve the visual detection of the shieldtunnel segment dislocation are listed. This thesis also provides the detection effect, andevaluates the visual detection technology. This thesis takes Augmented Reality as a base technology, innovatively builds asubway shield segment visual detection technology. As a return, it improves theinadequacies of the current segment detection technology, which plays an important rolein improving the use of shield segment detection.
