Road transportation plays a very important role in national economic construction. Dueto the speciifc geographic environment, road transportation is more vital for the economicdevelopment in Yunnan Province. But the mountain environment in Yunnan causesinconvenience for road transportation. The eiffciency and safety level of transportation arestill very low and the various traiffc accidents are frequent. Therefore,taking precautionsagainst the damages by road accidents is becoming an object of widespread attention in theprovince.Taking the research on the road traiffc environment and the traiffc safety situation inYunnan as the point of penetration, employing the principal component analysis of themultivariate statistics theory, the thesis builds an analysis evaluation model of the traiffcaccidents causes, which can be applied to the comprehensive analysis and evaluation on thestatistics of traiffc accidents in Yunnan. On the basis of which, the improvement measures areproposed and the strategies are summarizedOn the basis of the ifeld trip, this thesis also analyzes the vehicle operating technologiesin mountain environment and some potential management safety hazards, ifgures out the rootof the problem and comes up with the strategies for enhancing security control on the roadtransportation vehicles as well as proposals in terms of improvement and revisions of criteria,relevant laws and regulations.Furthermore, this thesis studies the issues concerning road traiffc safety characteristicsand safety ensuring technology in Yunnan mountain environment. Focusing on aspects suchas improving freeway and high-grade highways operation safety, promoting security servicelevel and transport efficiency,decreasing accident occurrence, the author conducted surveyson accidents at typical sections of highways, analyzed the driving behavior characteristics. Onthe basis of all above, comparing with theories and models used to study the accidentsmechanism at home and abroad, the author put forward some approaches of road safetyevaluation technology to solve the speciifc problems.
