Whether shear connectors is able to plays an important role to overall performance ofcomposite structure depends largely on the shear stress in the interface on the steel and concretewould be effectively passed on. So it is particularly necessary to study shear connectors in-depth.This article relies on PBL shear key of a bridge tower anchorage in Shenzhen, which weretheoretically analyzed. The main contents are as follows:This paper first introduces the basic situation of steel and concrete connection, which isdesigned to introduce the basic concept and the basic theory of PBL shear key. Although shearconnectors have wide range of types and many different technical characteristics, its maintechnical indicators remain similar properties, and its shear capacity formula is launched bysimilar way. There are obvious advantages for PBL shear key compared with other connections. Ithave strong shear resistance, excellent fatigue resistance, and its processing and arrangement isvery easy. These advantages would largely expand the application of PBL shear key.Shear capacity is an important indicator to measure the performance of the shear key. Therefore, this paper then focuses on the shear capacity calculations of PBL shear key. Bearingcapacity of PBL shear key model in this paper were calculated and come to the final shearcapacity based on different formulas abroad. And on this basis, a brief analysis of influencingfactors on the bearing capacity is done. Finally, this paper focuses on the finite element analysis of the PBL shear bond model bythe use of MIDAS FEA software. First, a finite element model is established, and then itsultimate bearing capacity was calculated, stress and strain changes of its internal were analyzed. At last, by way of gradually loaded in PBL to learn more about stress and strain variation ofcritical shear key position.
