Shaking table model test is an important means to simulate seismic, evaluate theseismic capacity of all the structure and determine the structure security in laboratory. Itis also the most direct way to study seismic response and failure mechanism of thestructure. It can timely reproduce various seismic wave process and simulate seismicwave. The result is relatively close to the actual earthquake. We can directly observe thedynamic characteristics and the destruction of the model. Then we can find the weaklink of the structure, which can provide a reliable basis for the reasonable structuraldesign in seismic measures. So it has been widely used in the theoretical research andthe practices of earthquake engineering.Shaking table model test has been playing a pivotal role in the academiccommunity. The paper briefly discusses its development, theoretical basis, existingproblems and future developments.Firstly, the structure of the model in the case of full counterweight, similar to theprototype structure and power of the model in the elastic stage derivation relationship,and then the counterweight insufficient, after the theory obtained in elastic stage andplaying plastic stage dynamic similitude and model numerical analysis to study theeffect of gravity distortion of structural forces, draw the structure under seismic actioncaused by structural forces to meet a similar relationship, the member in the earthquakeand static load the internal forces of reaction similar conclusions, and propose a methodto reduce the gravity distortion effect.With the advances in technology, the rapid rise of the high-rise buildings, pilefoundation has been widely used. The growing number of research in this area, as muchas its influencing factors pile-soil-the interaction between the upper structure, thecomplexity of the situation has been research important and difficult. The similaritybetween the relationship of the shaking table test model structure, the principle ofconsidering the principal contradiction, the foundation and the foundation of thesuperstructure on the upper structure of the research.
