Permanent magnet motor has high efficiency, high power factor, itbecomes one of the development of traction motor. For Direct drivetransmission, cancel the gearbox and directly drive the motor wheel, isthe future development of rail transit traction drive because of it has thehigh transmission efficiency, small size and other advantages. In thispaper, direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous traction motor used asa traction motor for railway, the research work mainly includes thefollowing aspects.Firstly, overview the advantages of permanent magnet synchronoustraction motor, introduce the development of direct drive and gear drive.point out the challenges of direct drive, describes the background andsignificance of this topic.Secondly, introduces the application carrier and specificrequirements what based on the task of direct-drive permanent magnetsynchronous traction motor, analysis of the relationship with inverter.Combined with the characteristics of direct drive motor, introduces theselection of cooling mode, the protection structure and the magneticcircuit structure and key materials final the poles slots and the keyparameters of the electromagnetic load are introduced.Thirdly, introduce methods of calculated traction motorcharacteristics, a method of field-circuit was given. Based on this method,introduce how to calculate the stator resistance the stator leakagereactance, no-load EMF, the d-axis and q-axis inductance reactance,efficiency and characteristic curve.Finally, According to the application carrier, a particular plan ofsurface magnetic circuit structure is given. And analysis of the magneticfield of no-load and load magnetic field by the specializedelectromagnetic field analysis software ANSOFT and MATLAB.calculate the motor rated parameters and characteristic curve, and thepermanent magnet demagnetization analysis.
