In recent years, with the rapid development of economy, people are increasinglydemanding of architectural space, especially the public buildings such as officebuildings and commercial buildings. Reinforced concrete slab-column structures areused more and more widely with its many advantages. However, punching failure ofslab-column connections have played a vital role in the security problem of reinforcedreinforced concrete slab-column structure because of the special force transferringpath and loading features in slab-column structure. Punching shear failure ofslab-column connection is a kind of local brittle failure by itself and can easilyproduce a chain reaction in the slab-column structure which causes the continuity ofthe overall collapse. However, the inner mechanism of the punching failure inslab-column connections still can’t get clear explanation.Based on the reasons above, many researchers did a lot of work in terms ofcalculating punching shear strength of slab-column connections, also offered a varietyof calculation models, such as the rigid-plastic model, the truss model, the limitequilibrium method, the critical shear crack theory and strain-based strength modeland so on. The establishment of the models did a lot of contributions to the theorycalculation of the punching shear capacity of plate, but also did not get a unifiedtheory. National codes for calculations of punching shear capacity are basicallyempirical formula, the calculation results have certain discreteness and no morepowerful theoretical support. This article carried on the8reinforced concreteslab-column connections destroyed by punching shear failure. The experimentalphenomena, and test datum, mainly including the load-deflection curve, theload-strain curve and crack state of the slabs, were observed and collected. At thesame time, the differences between specimens destroyed by punching shear, whichwere designed by different strength of concrete (C30, C50), longitudinalreinforcement reinforcement ratio or shear span ratio (5,7) were compared.According to the formula of basing on the critical shear crack theory, the Ying-Tian formula, the Carl Erik Broms formula and the Garder formula, the bearingcapacity of the8reinforced concrete slab-column connections destroyed by punchingshear failure were calculated in article, which were compared with test results. At the same time, punching shear capacity of the8reinforced concrete slab-columnconnections destroyed by punching shear were calculated by using of ACI318-08,CEB-FIP MC90and GB50010-2010. And then the calculated results were comparedwith test results and analyzed.
