Abstract:LW Bridge being constructed in a tourist scenic area in Hunan is a prestressed concrete continuous girder special-shaped cable-stayed bridge with4spans of (30+40+40+30) m. The main beam of the bridge is a single box six cells prestressed concrete continuous girder. The steel sculpture on the bridge has a exotic shape, and the structure with small stiffness is complex; wind load is large and the geological condition is poor at the location of bridge.This paper studied the deformation and stress state of the bridge under the main load, additional load, and various combinations of loads, structural stability and the carrying capacity of the substructure. Main work and achievements are listed below:1. Finite element models for the whole LW bridge was established based on the studied of complex structural finite element analysis method: The main beam used grillage method; the steel sculpture used shell element and space beam element; stay cables used truss element.2. The support reaction and the stress condition of the main beam and the sculpture under dead load, worst-case of living load and wind loads were analyzed. The deformation and stress state of the bridge under the shrinkage and creep load was studied. The main analysis results showed:the members of the bridge are all under reasonable stress condition, the rigidity and strength of the bridge satisfy requirements.3. The stability of the bridge under dead load, live load, wind load and several load combinations were researched, and the stability factors and buckling modes were given. The key buckling position of the whole bridge is steel sculpture leaves, then the leaning tower and horns.The overall buckling stability factor of the whole bridge is large enough to meet the requirements.4. Compared with various calculation methods of pile foundation, the pile foundation security of LW bridge was calculated by empirical method. The results showed that:the resistance of the piles is more than1.93times the load, and bearing capacity of pile foundation is sufficient.The research results of this paper provide service for the design and construction of LW Bridge and also give references for other similar bridges.
