High-speed railway develops rapidly in China and the network of high-speed railway lines has been built. In some special conditions, the bridges on the newly-built lines have to stride across the old lines, but the aerodynamic effect of train induced wind on the bridges is still unknown. With the acceleration of trains, high-speed train aerodynamic problems are more and more outstanding and these problems have already become important engineering topics in many countries. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Introduces the research methods of train aerodynamics and summarizes the research actuality both at home and abroad.(2) Introduces the basic theory of computational fluid dynamics and key techniques of simulating outer flow field of the train. Based on the channel girder cable-stayed bridge with single tower on Shanghai-Kunming passenger dedicated line and the software of computational fluid dynamics, FLUENT, the model of the high-speed train and the cable-stayed bridge is built.(3) Calculates models with different distance between the bridge and the train and different speed of the train, gets the curve of the aerodynamic forces on the bridge, and then discusses how the distance and the speed influence on the aerodynamic forces.(4) Based on the finite element software, ANSYS, the models of the cable-stayed in swing stage态closure stage and service stage are built. Loads the bridge with the aerodynamic force curve obtained by numerical calculation, discusses the responses of the bridge, and analyses the structural responses.
