A large number of dredged sludge was produced in China every year. How to deal with and make rational use of high water content sludge becomes the hot topic discussed by engineering and academia. Dredged sediment needs to be solidified which has been one of the effective ways to use dredged mud. Study on solidification characteristics and effect of dredged sludge has important practical value and theoretical significance.In this paper, our main research is the influences of the different contents of cement, lime, gypsum, fly-ash on the curing strength character of silt. The product structure was analyzed by XRD.In this paper, our main research is using cement, lime, fly ash and other curing agents to deal with dredging sludge. on the basis that skeleton can be constructed to solidify the dredging sludge, the basic geotechnical properties, environmental effects and the mechanical development of strength of sludge are assessed too. The main contents of the study are shown as follows:(1) On shrinkage experiments, the results show that adding curing agent can significantly reduce the sludge volume contraction.(2) On compressive strength of UCS test, the results show the obviously curing effect on dredging sludge by using cement and other curing agents, and the feasibility of technology and economy.(3)In order to explore the mechanical development of strength of solidified sludge, x-ray diffraction (XRD) experiment is conducted.
