Railway turnout is the connected device at the intersection of two tracks. It is theimportant control equipment which controls a train running from a track to another track. Andswitch machine is the drive of railway turnout, which is the core part of railway turnout.Before the train passes the railway turnout, switch machine shifts the position of railwayturnout according to the route. The operation quality of switch machine directly affects thedriving efficiency of the train, serious when even lead to major accidents.According to the working principle of switch machine, gap position and conversionresistance are two key parameters of switch machine. At present, the measurement of the gapposition and transition resistance mainly rely on maintainer, rarely used online monitoringsystem. And even the online monitoring system, can only monitoring a single gap position orconversion resistance. Simultaneously, most of gap position monitoring uses the method oftouch steel-ball or photoelectric, and never use image recognition technology. With thedevelopment of image recognition technology as well as the camera performance, theadvantages of image recognition technology gradually emerge.Through learning the basic concept of railway turnout and switch machine and thestructure and working principle of S700K switch machine, the switch machine testing meansat home and abroad are analyzed and compared, which leads to the advantages of the imagerecognition technology compared with the common testing method for switch machine. Thetechnical principles of this monitoring system are in-depth understood and the technicalprinciple of this monitoring system, which completes the recognition and measurement of gapposition through image processing technique, and completes real-time measurement oftransition resistance through the correlation of the electric parameters and the transitionresistance of switch machine. And then the switch machine monitoring system was installedin38#switch machine in guangzhou metro line4for the online test. Through data analysis,this system can meet the requirements of said gap position and transition resistance real-timemonitoring. Finally, the application value of the monitoring system is summarized, and someimprovement advice and prospects come up. It will provide data support and testing experience to the promotion of switch machine online monitoring system in metro.
