Thrust needle roller bearings are widely used in mechanical and electronic equipment,such as, power tools, automobiles, machine tools and other mechanical transmission devices.As key components, thrust needle roller bearing life is directly related to the life of themachine. With the development of instruments and other equipment industry, machinerunning speed and load constantly improved. the requirements of thrust needle roller bearingsbecome more and more demanding.This thesis plans to build thrust needle roller bearing elastohydrodynamic lubricationmathematical model, using FORTRAN program to do the numerical calculation. In order toanalyze the working condition theoretically. Meanwhile to design an appropriate test programto verify. Because the life test takes a long time, if using the rated load and speed to do thetest, it will take6000hours, more than eight monthes. The research cycle is too long, can’tmeet engineering actual requirements. Base on the actual situation, increasing the test load toshorten the failure time.It includes the following sections:Section1: it describes the working conditions of the bearing, failure forms. On thisbasis, to propose this research.Section2: it establishes the thrust needle roller bearing elastohydrodynamic lubricationmathematical model. It consists of the Reynolds Equation, lubricating oil viscosity-temperature relations, density-temperature relations, film thickness equation, energy equation,energy equation and the elastic deformation of the equation, as well as their boundaryconditions.Section3: by solving equations in computer to analyze the relations of load, speed,lubricant on bearing performance.Section4: making a test sample to detect some data in the entire operation process,such as temperature, torque, noise and other relevant parameters, to monitor bearingoperating abnormal behavior. To learn about the bearing working condition in the differentlubrication conditions and at different loads.Section5: it summarizes the calculation and testing, and finally give a possibleimprovement to meet the actual requirements. To work out the direction about the futurework. The project will use some analytical and computational methods in the lubricatedbearings lifetime. This research trials can provide substantial theoretical and experimentaldata for the continuous improvement of thrust needle roller bearing life.
