With the development of society and economy, cars have become humaninseparable companion, meanwhile, people for the automobile comfort and safetyrequirements more and more is also high. Therefore, the current auto safety,environmental protection and energy saving become the main developmentdirection of auto technology. Automobile electronic the parking brake system asone of modern active safety applications also more and more get the welcome ofpeople. This paper on the electronic the parking brake system of system modeling,simulation, and the control strategy of system design, the system can meet thepractical work needs.First, using Matlab/Simulink software analyzed the structure of the EPBsystem, and the principle, established the system’s model, and verified indifferent conditions control strategy. Fuzzy PID feedback control and closed-loopcontrol become as the control strategy. Thus The foundation of the electronic theparking brake control system hardware and software is design. Secondly, theMC9S12XDP512(16-bit microcontroller) is selected as the core processor. Formeeting the requirements of the EPB control system, the circuits, including theminimum system microcontroller circuits, power supply voltage and regulatorcircuits, and brake motor driver circuit are designed. On the basis of above work,the EPB control system hardware circuit and PCB diagram are generated byProtel DXP software. The CodeWarrior software is used for development thecontrol system procedures for the EPB control system. Finally, a serialcommunication module is used for ECU’s (Electronic Control Unit) calibrationand monition test. To debug the entire electronic control system hardware andsoftware, an engine simulator is used for generating the sensor signals of engine.Bench Test results show that the designed ECU prototype can realize theaccurate control for EPB system, and has the very good application value.
