The reliability and safe of automobile components is one of the major objectives ofautomobile structures design. Parameter uncertainty of automobile components is inherent inmost engineering problems, and loads that are applied to the automobile components aresame random. Thus, the random automobile structure systems with random parameterssubjected to random loads are appeared. The research on reliability of automobilecomponents is very important for design purposes. The reliability analysis of automobilecomponents can help the designer to establish acceptable tolerances on automobilecomponents and govern the fluctuations of the system parameters for safe operations. In theend, the reasonable automobile components could be designed with enough reliability andlittle cost.In engineering design, according to not considering past experience information; hence,to make automobile structure parameters for achieving high confidence level, much data fortraditional reliability design must be adequately collected, analyzed, and tested. However, inpractical engineering, it is very difficult for doing much test, only for getting in the form offinite test samples. Under the conditions, it has error for the traditional reliability design.Based on the development and current situation of Bayesian statistics theory, reliabilitydesign theory of automobile components, reliability-based optimization design method,reliability sensitivity analysis technique and the research of robust design principle, a newreliability design method is presented that solves the form of incomplete information in thearticle. Firstly, by combining Bayesian statistics theory with reliability-based optimizationdesign method, the automobile components Bayesian reliability-based robust mathematicalmodel is established, and the Bayesian reliability-based optimization design method ispresented; Secondly, by combining Bayesian statistics theory and reliability design theorywith sensitivity analysis method, the automobile components Bayesian reliability sensitivitydesign problem is solved, and the effect of the design parameters of the change to thereliability of automobile components is studied by the change laws of Bayesian reliabilitysensitivity given. Last,based on the Bayesian reliability-based optimization design method,reliability sensitivity analysis technique and the robust design principle, the automobile components reliability-based robust design approach is presented. The reliability sensitivity isadded to the reliability-based optimization design model and the Bayesian reliability-basedrobust design of automobile components is described as a multi-objection optimization. Onthe condition of satisfying reliability requirements, at the same time, the weight of theminimization and the robustness of the maximization were carried out, the numerical resultsillustrates the method proposed is an efficient and accuracy approach.
