The on-line ultrasonic testing system has been researched in this paper. Based on the generalized analysis to the development and tendency of domestic and abroad related technology, the ultrasonic testing methods suited for this system were developed in this paper. The designing scheme for the all parts of mechanical was depicted in detail.Water cycle structures were simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Further structural optimization scheme is given. Ultrasonic calibration block was designed relevent to "the ultrasonic testing methods of seamless steel tub" in GB/T5777-2008.Water immersion focusing probe was used in this ultrasonic equipment. We use longitudinal wave to test the defects inside the tube. V belt transmission is designed for the main movements. The signal was transferred by slip rings and carbon brushes to the terminal equipment.The rotating cavity was adopted in the designing of the system. So the complex fluid motion and mold-filling capacity of the different water cycle became the difficult point. Fluid simulation software was used to simulate the inner flow field. Rotation speed should be limited within500r/min to1500r/min based on the result of simulation.At last the copper tube was tested by equipment. The copper tube was dissected after the experiment. The practicability of the equipment was verified.
