DC system in substation and power plant plays an important part. The liabilityand stability of DC system is critical to safe and reliable operation of power system.Grounding fault is the most common failure in the DC system. It presents seriousdanger on system safety as a new grounding point may cause short circuit fault orrelay mal-operation. It is for the purpose to carry out the research of measuringleakage current sensor of the branch.This design of a new type leakage current sensor in the article is based on Hallsensor and magnetic modulation sensor. It is used the hysteresis properties amongB-H of magnetic materials with the single coil of self motivation methods. It turns thechanges of currents into the change of pulse width. The design of this article is basedon measurement technology of micro-controller which constitutes a high-precision,low-power, bus-type intelligent digital DC small current sensors. Its idea of the bustype and the intelligent design brings great convenience for the installation,debugging, testing and repairing. Using the simulation experiment proves thefeasibility of the new intelligent DC small current sensor. It gives the hardware designand software programming. It has completed the function realization of self-test,acquisition, measurement, communication and alarm module. The sensor testingsystem is designed by using VB. The complete instruction has been established. Itimproves the ability of human-computer interaction by connecting the lowercomputer with CAN bus. It makes sensor measurement more convenient andoperability more powerful.
