With the wide application of power electronic technology in power system, the indutr--ialization process to get rapid development, but much attention has been paid to powerquality problems especially the process of inductive load resistance to the power grid tosupply reactive power and harmonic pollution problem. In order to make the power qualityreach the requirement of safe and reliable, high quality economic, so further study of reactivepower compensation and harmonic suppression technology has far-reaching practical sign--ificance.Firstly, according to current situation of power system harmonic and reactive power, thispaper demonstrated the feasibility of harmonic and reactive power integrated compensationdevice, and the control measures of harmonic and reactive power compensation principlewere studied, except that,the paper provided a theoretical basis for the study of harmonic andreactive power compensation device and the comprehensive.Secondly, an analysis comparison between the harmonic and reactive current detectionmethod of performance has been done, and especially we mainly studied ip-iq tests based onthe instantaneous reactive power theory, and made a simulation about the detection methodsbased on the theory, we verified the advantages, the detection precision of the method and thereal time.Finally, the design of active power filter (APF) as the core and the static reactive powergenerator (SVC) joint operation of comprehensive compensation device was made, the deviceby the structure of the same set of TSC,The thyristor for capacitor and the H bridgeconnection of APF was on the grid in parallel, achieving the goal of comprehensivecompensation by TSC and APF’s complementary and mutual benefit. At the same time, thecomprehensive compensation device was applying to jinzhou new power electronicsCompany.This device was verified in improving system dynamic performance and stability ismore reliable, more quick, more sensitive, based on the experimental data processing andanalysis.
