Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) is a kind of high energy oxidant with low toxicity, high security and no combustible smog. And it has extensive application prospect in military affairs, aviation and aerospace etc. ADN/methanol propellant is mixed with ADN and methanol according to a certain proportion. But, up to now, the theory study on chemical kinetics of ADN is only about a single component-ADN. There is no theory analyses about the combustion reaction kinetics of ADN/methanol propellant and simulation of the combustion process in the ADN thruster. In order to solve these questions, the study is carried out by numerical simuulations.After geometry optimization, we calculate the single-point energy, the vibration frequency, the nuclear magnetic resonance and the thermodynamic parameters of ADN with Gaussian03software. Based on the enthapy, entropy and heat capacity at different temperature of ADN, dinitramide acid (DA) and HNNO2, construct the function of temperature of the thermodynamic parameters with MATLAB and solve the coefficient of the function of temperature for ADN, DA and HNNO2.The rate of product (ROP) analysis and sensitivity analysis are performed for the detail chemical kinetics model of ADN. And the reduced chemical kinetics model of ADN is established. Through comparing the results of the reduced and detail model, analyze the reduced model’s forecast accuracy. Integrate the detail model and the methanol oxidation, then to establish the combustion reaction kinetics of ADN/methanol propellant. Compare the results of the model with Gronland’s experimental data and then find they are in good agreement.Based on the combustion reaction kinetics of ADN/methanol propellant, mathemtical model of the combustion process in the ADN thruster is built. Then carry out simulation research on the combustion process in the ADN thruster and analyze the transient and steady results of the combustion reaction in ADN thruster. And then summarize the effect of the preheating temperature, mass flow, chamber length and porosity on the pressure, temperature and important components distribution in ADN thruster.
