With the rapid development of CMOS technology, the analog/mixed-signal IChas becoming more and more complex. The testing of analog/mixed-signal IC hasbecome very difficult and very expensive. The built-in self-test technology has beenproved to an efficient method for analog/mixed-signal IC. It is very important andnecessary to design a low power and high precision stimuli generation for BISTApplication in analog/mixed-signal Circuits.Firstly, this paper expounds the current situation of the development of signalgenerator, and then proposed a new program that designed a chip-level signalgenerator. The sine wave generator designed in this paper has a smaller areaoverhead to reduce the manufacturing cost of the chip, has better robustness toovercome the process variation, environmental noise. Used of analog-digital hybridstructure can be tuned to produce high-resolution sine wave. This analog sine wavegenerator consists of two parts: an approximate sine wave generator and a filter. Thestructure of this generator is robust and easily-controlled, in which an approximatesine wave is firstly generated based on SC circuits and then filter the harmonics. Themain advantages of the approach are that both the amplitude and the frequency of thesignal can be controlled by a DC input voltage and the clock frequency respectively.As a core part of the signal generator, PGA is the focus of this paper. PGA usesvoltage-current-input resistance structure, applied switched capacitor (SC) techniqueand control signal generated by the digital clock network change the input load withthe mode switch array. In order to satisfy the accuracy and gain of the amplifierrequirements simultaneously, Use folded cascode gain-boost amplifier to offerrelatively larger output swing and better single-pole roll-off frequency response.Apply rail to rail technology to increase the common-mode input voltage range.Design the programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and its related module andsimulation them in circuit-level. Finally, completed the programmable gain amplifier (PGA) design in circuit-level. Use Cadence Spcetre simulation with the1.2V supply voltage and27℃. Thesimulation results show that DC gain higher than82dB, phase margin of61°, ACanalysis simulation show unity gain bandwidth GBW is477MHz, CMRR is89Db,amplifier total power consumption is about4.8mW. Get its SNR can reach20.68dB,meet the design requirements.
