The Research On Water Landscape Design Of Ancient Village In Zhejiang

Wateris the basis of all life which can be seen as the cradle of human civilization. Its rich culturalconnotation makes it turned to be the most essential attractive elements in landscape design.Waterlandscapes in historic villages keep a record of the wisdom and experience of ancient sages byobserving nature, utilizing nature and remaking nature. In other words, the water landscapes witness theformation and development of traditional water layout culture of China. With the rapid development ofnew rural area in China, the layout and utilizing of water landscapes in historic villages has become anurgent project.Given this background, this paper focuses on the water landscapes design in historic villages bycollecting a large number of historical documents and existing materials. Based on field surveys on over20historic villages in Chekiang, this paper conducts an analytical research by applying Environment ArtDesign Theory and other theories from related disciplines. In the first part, the layout concept of waterlandscapes in historic villages will be analyzed from three aspects: the nature quality of water is in fulluse during layout, water will be first considered in village layout, geomancy will be concerned in waterlandscapes design. In the second part, the key point of layout and the layout method of water layoutlandscapes in historic villages are analyzed from two aspects: the form of water layout and elements inwater landscape ornaments. Moreover, this paper also carries out further discussion on aesthetic featuresof the water landscapes in historic villages from the perspective of ecological beauty. In the final part,value orientation for management and restoration of water layout landscapes in historic villages isconcluded.This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the scientific, artistic and national design of waterlayout landscapes in historic villages in Chekiang from three major aspects: concept, constitute elementsand aesthetic features of water layout. In this study, the new design ideas are put forward not only forrestoration and reconstruction of water landscapes in historic villages but also for the village protectionand repair of the ancient villages in our country. And it also provide some advices for the use of thetraditional methods in today’s design.
