With the development of the city as well as the larger quantity and the moreintensive of the high-rise buildings, it is of great significance to study of the windenvironment around those buildings. At present, there are many studies on wind loadsof isolated high-rise building by numerical simulation, yet only few studies on thewind loads of the high-rise building complex and its interferences effect by numericalsimulation have been reported. On the other hand, Because of the greater height andlower stiffness, the fluid-structure coupling effect of wind load increased prominently. There are four major methods to study these wind effects on high-rise buildingstructure, which are wind tunnel test, field measurement, theoretical analysis andnumerical simulation. The three main contents are included as follows:(1) Based on stand k-ε model, RNG k-ε model and model, distribution of the mean pressure of Leatop Plaza in Zhujiang new town ofGuangzhou in high-rise building complex were simulated in typical wind angle withsoftware Fluent6.3. The calculated results were compared with those of experiments. Moreover, the distribution of wind speed and flow lines was simulated at differentheights of the buildings.(2) In order to analyze the surface wind pressure of Leatop Plaza effected by thesurrounding buildings, the mean pressure coefficient of Leatop Plaza as isolatedhigh-rise building was simulated, which was compared the simulation results of thecondition in community building. On the other hand, the fluctuating wind pressurecoefficients were estimated from the calculated mean pressure coefficients, meanvelocities and turbulence kinetic energy that obtained from simulation results.(3)Base on ANSYS Workbench, in considering the role of fluid-structureinteraction, wind pressure on the surface, the flow situation and the structuralvibration were simulated for elastic model of Leatop Plaza which are equivalent to themodel of wind tunnel test by using the analysis module of ANSYS+FLUENT andANSYS+CFX. In addition, by establishing the appropriate model for numericalsimulation analysis, the effect of the wind pressure on the surface of Leatop Plaza byplacing openings on the upper three refuge floors was investigated.
