Disc brake is an important part of brake system. With the development of technology and the requirement of people’s life, because of its good brake property,it’s used more and more on cars.People have more and more attention on brake noise. It is a no-linear problem, which is the important and difficult point. This thesis regards some disc brake that hasn’t been produced as object, doing free mode analysis by ABAQUS.Starting from contact theory and complex eigenvalue theory, doing complex mode analysis by different conditions.Finding out the unstable mode and different contribution of component on unstable mode. Finally, improving the structure.First, building the finite element model of caliper disc brake by HYPERMESH, including housing, anchor, disc, pad and so on.In order to improving the quality of mesh, different methods are used.Providing different materials, building contact surfaces, tie, boundary conditions and load. Then doing free mode analysis of housing, anchor, pad and disc, getting the standard young’s modulus by basic young’s modulus, wich will be used in the complex eigenvalue analysis.Doing complex eigenvalue analysis of caliper disc brake after the parameter adjusted.Six conditions are analyzed.Finding unstable mode at1.8kHz by the result, which is matching to the experiment result.By CCF,finding out the component of most contribution, which is disc.By CMCF,finding out mode four and mode five have most contribution.Improving rigidity of disc by changing the young’s modulus, doing CEA by new young’s modulus. The result indicates the unstable mode only appears in the condition of lObar. The unstable level decrease. The goal is to improving the real frequency of disc to8%.Providing three schemes, which are A、B and C.These schemes are used to improve the rigidity. After CEA,the scheme B is the best, which also is matching with the experiment.
