By the rapid developme nt of power syste m, smart gr id has become the commonchoice of the internationa l power industry to respond to the future challe nges.Intelligent power gr id will require an extreme ly flexible control capability, andFlexible AC Trans mission Syste ms (FACTS) technology is to provide effective meansof control. However, the negative interactions between FACTS controllers will affectthe control performa nce of the controllers, even may destroy the stability of powersystem. How to do quantitative analysis of the interaction between FACTS controllers, and propose feasib le control strategies to improve the secur ity o f power systembecome an important research topic. In order to solve the proble m, the content of thefull text mainly includes the following several parts:An ana lytica l approach based on Effective Relative Energy Arra y (EREA) isproposed for the analys is of interactions amo ng multi-FACTS controllers. Based onthe New Eangland system, it adopts the indicator of EREA to quantify the dyna micinteractions between Static Var Compensators (SVC) and Thyristor Controlled SeriesCompensator (TCSC) controllers. The simulation results in the three casesdemonstrate the effectiveness of EREA method. In order to eliminate or decrease the interactio n between the controllers, coordinated operation proble m is fo mulated as a multi-objective optimizatio n problem.Under the different d isturbance conditio ns, NSGA-Ⅱ is proposed to potimize theparameters of controllers. Finally, the nonlinear time-domain simulatio n is used toanalysis the influence of operation conditions on the coordination desgin. In order to improve the the ability of real-time adjustme nt, an adaptive controllerwith a differentia l observer is designed to solve the coordination of multi-TCSCcontrollers. And the simulation results show that the adaptive controllers have asuperior control performance. This paper launc hes a series of research work around the interaction andcoordinated conto l strategy, and puts forward the corresponding effective solution. This work can provide reference for the researches on multi-FACTS coordinatedcontrol technology based on Wide Area Monitoring System (WAMS).
