This thesis mainly studies the condition monitoring technology of the nuclear powerplant. As a unit of the operating support system, Condition monitoring is the basis of faultdiagnosis, which can be used to detect fault at early stage, and is useful to reduce the burdenof operator and to improve the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants. This thesis collects literature of the happened typical accidents of the reactor coolantsystem of Pressurized Water Reactor, and analyzes abnormal signal character of the fault. Atthe same time, the impact of the typical of the accident in the other three subsystems of theprimary loop system to reactor safety systems have been summarized, while some typicalaccidents of the two-loop are analyzed; and the monitoring parameters are classified basedon the monitoring parameters principles. In this thesis a Distributed Condition Monitoring System is developed for NuclearPower Plant (NPPDCMS) using principal component analysis, kernel principle componentanalysis, pipe-trend methods for fault detection, and using physics conservation theoremmethod for fault isolation. The whole system is divided into several sub-units according tothe structure and function of nuclear power plant, and every sub-unit applies the mixedmethod for parameter monitoring. The way to get knowledge from physics conservation andthe rule of reasoning are introduced in the fourth chapter. The results show that, it is suitable for operator support system using the distributedmixed monitoring. The NPPDCMS has high reliability, low missing rate alarm when it isapplied to detect abnormal parameters and analyze symptoms. The human-machineinterface is helpful to the operator, which is designed by the human factors engineeringrequirements. The works of this thesis provide a solid technical foundation for thedevelopment of real-time, reliable nuclear power plant condition monitoring and faultdiagnosis system.
