Water-lubricated bearing is widely used in ships, turbine and other equipment because itprovides non-pollution, good shock absorption, and structurally simple performance.However, the unit carrying capacity of water-lubricated rubber bearings is low. In some higherpressure working conditions, the length of the shaft will be designed much longer, itexacerbates the wear of the bearing, and brings inconvenience to the designing of othercomponents. Therefore, the development of new bearings with higher carrying capacity hasbecome an important research direction of the water-lubricated rubber bearings. Carrying outthe research of the water-lubricated rubber bearing’s lubrication characteristics and clarifyingbearing lubrication characteristics in the actual working conditions can provide the necessarytheoretical and experimental basis for the further research and the development of new models.This paper chooses the water-lubricated rubber bearings as the study object, carrying outthe research in the following aspects:1. By analyzing the research status, has compared the different numerical methods usedby domestic and foreign scholars in the study of water-lubricated rubber bearings. From thepoint of view of computational fluid dynamics, use the fluid-structure interaction algorithm tostudy the lubrication characteristics of water-lubricated rubber bearings.2. The fluid-structure interaction numerical model of water-lubricated rubber bearing hasbeen built. It completed the numerical simulation of the water-lubricated rubber bearing’slubrication characteristics in25working conditions with CFX software. And got themetabolic tends of water film pressure, flow characteristics, water film thickness, carryingforce and coefficient of friction in different working conditions.3. Combined orthogonal test method with the numerical simulation of water lubricatedrubber bearing. Built16different simulation models by the orthogonal table in order toresearch the effect of bearing’s structural parameters on its carrying capacity and completebearing structure’s optimization analysis.4. Carried out the experimental study of bearing lubrication performance with thepressure0.2MPa-1.0MPa on test bed, the pressure has overcome the standard less than0.3MPa. The experiment includes78working conditions, and it got the response of thebearing lubricating properties under different working parameters. The result has referencevalue to the bearing design on heavy load conditions.
