With the vigorous development of coastal defense industry in China, some technicalresearch of aircraft carrier is spreading up intensely. Due to the complexity of theenvironment of aircraft carrier and many influencing factors, the security of aircraft carriersystem has always been a technical difficulty. Automatic Carrier Landing System is the mostadvanced mode of carrier landing in the world, which can improve the accuracy of carrierlanding and success rate effectively. The Automatic Carrier Flight Guidance and ControlSystem is the basic guarantee of ACLS. The function of it is to automatically adjust andstabilize the attitude of the aircraft and the flight path according to command inputs and theenvironment changes. Automatic control theory, Modern intelligent control theory, Flightmechanics, Fluid mechanics and so on are used in this paper which taked an example ofF/A-18to design an Automatic Carrier Flight Guidance and Control System and took thesimulation.Firstly, this paper consisted of building the mode of six degrees of freedom according tothe analysis of the carrier force and motion, and then got the F/A-18longitudinal disturbancemodel after decoupling and linearization. Secondly, this paper did the reseach of modalcharacteristics and open-loop response characteristics through the longitudinal disturbancemodel, then analyzed open-loop unstable factors and determined the aircraft carrier controlparameters. Thirdly, this paper improved and perfected the pitching Angle instruction flightcontrol system; designed the Autopilot and the Approach Power Compensator System ofF/A-18, completing the automatic control of aircraft carrier attitude. Fourthly, this paperdesigned the Guide and Control System based on PID controller and fuzzy adaptive controller.Finally, the model of carrier landing disturbance is established, and its influence on thecarrier-base aircraft as a disturbance was put into the Automatic Carrier Flight Guidance andControl System, aiming to capacity the inspection of the wind disturbance suppression of thesystem.The simulation results by MATLAB/Simulink showed that within the Flight ControlSystem of the pitching Angle command, the carrier’s stable performance was improved andthe carrier attitude control can be finished in a short time. Compared with the F/A-18flightcontrol system of the rate of change in altitude, this paper’s design is better. The AutomaticCarrier Flight Guidance and Control System based on PID controller and fuzzy adaptivecontroller can better realize the F/A-18height control and fit the complex environment of aircraft carrier landing.
