As the western development and building infrastructure of our country and all kinds of mining underground resources, highways, tunnels, bridges, large water conservancy and hydropower facilities and all kinds of building construction of booming development, human activities are more and more contacting with natural environment, at the same time also facing more and more difficulties and natural disasters. The slope landslide, collapse, debris flow disasters which caused by natural factors or engineering disturbance are particularly frequent, posing a serious threat to the national economy and people’s life and property security. So scientific research of slope stability problems has already become one of the important geotechnical engineering research direction and topic.Firstly the paper reviews the development of the domestic and foreign research scholars’theories of slope stability analysis for rock slope; Studies the development of the theory of rock mechanics having promoting role in the evolution of the slope stability analysis methods; Analyzes the respective advantages and disadvantages of existing rock slope stability analysis methods; Puts forward a new direction of development slope stability analysis.Then analyzes the composition of rock slope and the influencing factors of slope stability; Introduces rock slope stability analysis methods, focusing on the high rocky slope limit equilibrium method (Bishop Method) and the (FEM) strength subtraction method with the case of a certain primary school. Through the field geological investigation, grasping the construction condition, engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions, respectively, uses the Li Zheng slope stability analysis software and the MIDAS/GTS large geotechnical finite element analysis software of the high rock slope stability analysis. The conclusion is:the MIDAS/GTS software using elastic-plastic finite element strength subtraction analysis of rocky slope is more accurate than the traditional limit equilibrium method, and more fit actual engineering rock mass stress and strain conditions. Theory of the MIDAS/GTS software system is advanced, the interface simple operation, more simulated. The software applied to the engineering of rock slope stability analysis modeling can save time, improving analysis accuracy,and has the strong practical significance.Finally according to the result of a certain primary school high rock slope stability analysis and the slope shoring specification, reinforce the brace of slope, the face of slope and slope greening, drainage design, etc. Analyses the adaptability and the construction technology of the new reinforcement technology such as the prestressed anchor cable anti-slide pile supporting technology, spray anchor bracing technique of rock mass, slope greening technologies. Has a certain reference of similar high rock slope reinforcement design and greening project.
