Local demand-varying design refers to the product design that modifying design history according to the change of demand to meet the expected demand on the basis of design history reuse. It is a mainstream in the field of modern product design, which not only caters to the enterprise in the pursuit of efficiency, but also satisfies the customer demand for personalized products. In the most of the current local demand-varying design, designers mostly copy or modify the structure of design history to solve the problem of changes in demand response. But in fact the function of product is directly associated with demand, so only to clarify the corresponding relationship between function and structure of the design history, from the aspect of the function of design history responses to changes in demand, and the function changes influence is impacted to the structure layer, then the real meaning of the local demand-varying demand can be realized.To solve the above problem, this dissertation proposes the Structureâ†'Solutionâ†'Effectâ†'Function mapping-based inverse method and the method of function reuse and variation based on Functionâ†'Effectâ†'Solution mapping. On the base of design history information solved by the inverse solving, modify the function information in response to local demand, and the impact of changes in function information layer will transfer to the solutions of the expected product to realize the solving of expected product. The main research efforts are as follows:1.The inverse solving of design history structure to function. This dissertation proposes the use of Structure-Solution-Effect-Function mapping-based inverse method to solve the conceptual design information of design history, solve the function structure of design history, and distinguish the mapping relationship between function and solution, at the same time, the design intent of designer is captured; 2. Research on function reuse and variation of design history. This dissertation proposes the method of function reuse and variation of design history based on Function—Effect—Solution mapping, the design requirements of expected product is meet by the function reuse and variation of design history, the impact emerged from function variation will be passed to the solutions of expected product by Function—Effect—Solution mapping, finally, the local demand-varying design is accomplished from the source. Then, through the change of part effect of design history, the optimization of expected product solution is achieved;3. A system of solving the local demand-varying product design is developed based on the above theory. At the same time, the feasibility and effectiveness of the above theoretical method is proved by the forklift drive axle as an example.
