Profiled arch bridge as a new bridge type, in addition to retaining the original advantage of general arch bridge, it has more reasonable force structure, unique shape, singular landscape and easier coordination to the surrounding environment. With our modern urban bridge construction, the shape of bridge is more required. Because of these advantages as well as fit with the actual situation of modern urban bridge construction, it has been widely used in many of our cities and the rapid development. At the same time, profiled arch bridge is a new bridge type, its dynamic performance under seismic action is lack of research. In this paper, it use a large span profiled steel arch bridge as the engineering background in order to study the dynamic characteristics, and has a very practical significance.In the back of many domestic and foreign scholars research, choose Hang Zhou Canal’s bridge as engineering background, using the finite element software to establish full-bridge space model. Research on seismic response of large span profiled steel arch bridge is as the following aspects:1. The dynamic characteristics of large span profiled steel arch bridge. Use the finite element software to establish a full-bridge space model, and calculate its dynamic characteristics. Contrast model are also been established to take account of the pile-soil-structure interaction on the dynamic characteristics of the main bridge.2. Consider the affection of coupling of the bridge approach on the dynamic characteristics of the main bridge. Based on the Kelvin collision spring theory to establish the main bridge, the bridge approach coupled model and take response spectrum analysis and time history analysis, comparing results to without-bridge-approach model, to analyze the affection of coupling of the bridge approach on the dynamic characteristics of the main bridge.3. Response spectrum analysis of large span profiled steel arch bridge. Using standardized response spectrum curve to calculate the full-bridge model, and choose six different synthetic response spectrums curve as a contrast model, analysis its seismic response.4. Time history analysis of large span profiled steel arch bridge. Choose typical motion records curve and six different synthetic time history curves to analyze and calculate the bridge model, draw the structural dynamic response process and internal forces, displacement time history curves. And the analysis results of the time history and the results of the response spectrum analysis were compared to draw some useful conclusions.5. Considering traveling wave effect in the process of time history analysis on large span profiled steel arch bridge, and results were compared to uniform excitation analyze.6. Through numerical simulation analysis of the energy dissipation effect of the damping device and change the parameters of the damping device in order to analyze components’seismic performance, so that the components will meet the standards requirements in any case, and to ensure the bridge is in safe.
