In material science, it is an important part for researchers to study synthesis technology and properties of elastic material with adhesive surface. This kind of material has one common property, adhesive effect on surface. JKR (John, Kendall and Roberts) theory is the important theory that helps the researchers to analysis the properties of adhesive material. The theory is mainly used to study the release state of adhesion energy under micro-contact. But there is no such a kind of product which can measure the JKR experiment data. So it is necessary to develop the JKR energy measurement equipment. Based on JKR theory, using virtual instrument technology is a good choice to design and develop software and hardware system of this instrument.The hardware system of JKR energy measurement equipment is mainly used to do the JKR experiment and measure the data. According to technical requirements, we build the hardware system by choosing the type of sensors and designing structure of the instrument. And that includes sensor integration technology, anti-interference technique, electro-mechanical integration technology and so on.The software system of JKR energy measurement equipment is mainly used to control the hardware system of the instrument. The software environment is Windows XP and the software development platform is MFC of VC++6.0. In order to build the software system, we use many technologies, including motor drive technology, software filtering technology, multi-thread technology and so on.Performance of this hardware and software system has been tested and verified. The result shows that the instrument has many advantages such as scientific structure, high precision and so on. Also two operation modes are suitable for different demand.
