Tunnel construction engineering projects feature the characteristics of long construction period, huge investment, technology complexity, and so on. Therefore, many uncertain factors exist in the process of construction, which entails huge risk to the normal completion of the project. For that reason, it is particularly important to undertake the risk analysis and risk assessment of tunnel and underground engineering to ensure safety, quality and reduce unnecessary economic losses during the construction period. In this paper, the overall framework of the computer aided system for risk analysis and risk assessment of the tunnel and underground engineering are studied, complete the development of tunnel and underground engineering risks standard database and application software, and realize the whole process of tunnel and underground engineering throughout the construction process from risk identifications, risk assessment to making risk management. The main contents and results of this study are as follows:(1) In the establishment of a database of risk, the risk information, risk factors, risk decision measures are all standardized and stored in a database, which, for the user to select and reference in the risk assessment process.(2) In risk identification, expert surveys, checklists and Delphi method are combined to make risk identification of the tunnel and underground engineering projects. A total of13first level risk factors and72second level risk factors have been identified, thus, initially establish a runnel and underground engineering construction detailed risk factors table.(3) In the study of risk assessment methods, the results are mainly to integrate qualitative and quantitative method conduct risk assessment, such as AHP, network analysis and fuzzy network analysis method for users to choose from. Realizing the entire risk assessment process of fuzzy network analysis method with software systems is the first at home.(4) In making risk decision, the indentified second level risk factors are given proper recommended risk treatment measures, which will act as a reference for the user in the risk decision-making process. (5) In the application of engineering practice, the computer aided system of the tunnel and underground risk assessment has been used to assess the risk of Hu Maling long tunnel given its specific circumstances, and draw the conclusion that the risk of the project is at a higher level.
