With the university’s social and open, and disabled students by their own efforts, disabled people and older age groups and other special users in the university can not be ignored, the barrier-free design of the Campus outdoor public space is very important. However, there are still some problems and inadequacies about the Accessible Design in the university. Therefore, how to design a good human accessible space in college outdoor public space for all of the users in the university should be a worthy reflection and exploration.Through theoretical analysis and investigations, induction literature, field surveys and other research methods, the study focused on the status of outdoor public space accessible design about Hunan Agricultural University, concluded the following issues:1. Imperfect accessibility, blind road, curbs, ramps, barrier-free access facilities do not meet the relevant specifications.2. Lack of late management to the barrier-free facilities. Roads, curbs, ramps were damaged without repair can be certain barriers to users, especially green plants and street trees are not pruning in time can lead to growth too low to interfere with normal access.3. Accessible Design system are incomplete, engineering acceptance are not rigorous, plus the lack of supervision of the legal system lead to barrier-free design of formality, what’s more, accessibility design norms for the landscape of green areas are not yet worked out.For the university outdoor public space accessible design of current problems, the following suggestions and improvement strategies are proposed:1. In accordance with the relevant regulations and norms of the range of accessible design of roads and perimeter of the buildings should implement real convenience for vulnerable groups.2. The green land in university should be accessible design. Landscape accessibility design norms are not formulated, so designers need to strive to explore and develop a more rational, humane norms and standards.3. Proposed a specialized area divided parkland college accessibility design for all types of people to use the outdoor public space fairly and equally.
