Since the automobiles not only sustain the press impact but may also sustain draw impact in the process of driving. While the majority of the impact testing stands for automobile steering devices can only used for the testing of press impact while not for dress impact testing and thus can not thoroughly guarantee the strength and security of the automobile steering devices. In order to solve this problem, unlike the most previous ones, draw and press impact testing machine designed in this paper of easy operation can be used both for experiments of press impact and draw impact, which comprehensively ensures the strength and security of the automobile steering device.According to technological requirements, this paper carries out the design of each part of the testing machine to construct a testing machine by analyzing its principles. It is a testing machine available both for press and draw impact testings with simple and convenient operation. The concept of security is also blended into the design process of the electric system. In this paper, the testing software is written in Visual Basic, which is of simple and convenient operation, rendering rich curve operations and convenient for the learning and employing of operators for it is intuitive. At last, it is to conduct the impact testings to study and analyze the testing results and analytic errors. The design of the testing stand is successful.
