Since the18th NPC, the development of small-town has become the hot fieldbased on the purpose of quickening the new pattern urbanization. In the process of therapid urban construction, China’s eastern coastal towns and central interior townshave good basis though one-sided pursuit of skyscrapers and population growthinstead of distinction and protection of environment becomes increasingly prominent.As to the developing provinces, especially the Tibetan plateau, the urbanization juststarted, meanwhile, lots town have developed in this generic way destructively. Somelocal deciders haven’t realized the advantages and disadvantages of their towns andhaven’t considered that geographical conditions. religious faith. history and naturalconditions will also affect the success or failure of Tibetan urbanization. In thiscontext, how to design an acceptable Tibetan new town which combinesmodernization and tradition and makes it as a sample of urban forms and creating artis the main content of my dissertation.The thesis is composed of5chapters. The first chapter illustrates the significanceof the topic and the research purpose. It establishes the research area, the researchcontent and skeleton by using the methodology I have learned. The second chapterconcretely explains the research, focusing on the traditional Tibetan ideology andtheory. The main emphasis of the research is being placed in chapter3and4,as in thechapter3,I analyzed the new Tibetan urban form by doing research on typicalprinciples and factors of construction, classic urban public space system, spatialquality,and give the detailed descriptions of Tibetan urban form and creating art byusing typology. Taking Kangba Race university of art as an example in chapter4, Imade the methodology practical to the design, exploring the real value. The chapter5gives the conclusion based on the previous research.
