Economic development, the power should take the lead. The electricity hasalready become an indispensable energy of today’s social development. In recentyears, with all kinds of power electronic have used widely, resulting in asubstantial increase the load in the power supply system, thereby generating alarge number of high harmonics, causing serious pollution to the grid. In thecontext of countries proposed the building of a "smart grid" era, requirements ofthe power system and electrical equipment for power quality will be higher andhigher. So, harmonic governance has become an important research question.Because the active power filter has the advantage of rapid, accurate, efficient, soit is a kind of important tool to improve power quality.Based on the research status of active power filter in detail, in-depth study ofthe various harmonic current detection method and harmonic current controlstrategy. Because the harmonic current detection method based on the principleof phase discrimination in real-time, fast calculation and accurate along withcontrolled by delay-cycle comparison good dynamic response, the design of theshunt active power filter based on DSP+CPLD, and the parameter in the designplan were theoretically analyzed.The experimental results show that shunt active power filter designed in thispaper can quickly detect harmonic current and can effectively compensate theharmonic, harmonic in the grid current decreased significantly aftercompensation. From the experimental data show that a good compensationperformance, achieves the expected effect.
