In our county, the traffic capacity of many streets and roads with high age and damaged areas have been limited. In this paper, the research will be focused on the length of damaged sections and their different positions to explain the effect factor based on modeling, anlyzing and simulation of the damaged sections. Now many study about traffic capacity lies in the cause of such damage or damaged road evalution indices, ignoring the factor of damaged length and its positon. In this thesis damaged road modele will be created and by the mothod of simulation to study the two variables. The traffic behavior has properties of continuity and discreteness, which the current transportation models can hardly take both of them into account. However, the complexity of the transportation system can be fully manifested by means of hybrid Petri nets. Petri net is applied to modeling and Simulation of city traffic network can reduce the amount of computation and reduce programming complexity. Hybrid Petri nets is a graphical modeling tool, which makes the model more intuitive and easy to understand, and the rigorous mathematical analysis theory. So this article uses the hybrid Petri net model for road pavement damage zone modeling analysis. In this context, this thesis will first set up a traffic flow model in the situation of pavement damage, and divide the road sections into N parts in order to observe the vehicle travel status in each part. In consequence, the changing process of traffic flow, vehicle speed, and traffic density in the pavement damage area can be directly perceived. On this basis, a hybrid Petri net model is established and the lane change and dynamic traffic are showed by its discrete parts and continuous parts respectively. Through the hybrid Petri net model analyze the traffic behavior of pavement damage area for the next step of the simulation.Further more, it takes Qionglai-Mingshan Expressway as the simulation background and employs simulation analysis on the pavement damage model of the target road section by MATLAB. It also sets up two different variables as length and location of the pavement damage area to research traffic capacity of the damaged road section. Finally, the following conclusions are summarized:1. it will greatly affect the changing process of traffic capacity if the length of the pavement damage area is less than400m. However, if the length is above400m, the traffic capacity won’t vary any more as the length grows;2. it will have less impact on the traffic capacity if the location of the pavement damage area is far to on-ramps. Therefore, pavement repair construction should be taken up in the nearest location of on-ramps foremost to reduce the impact on traffic capacity.
