With the rapid development of High-speed Railway in China, many High-speed Railway stations have been constructed and they are now fully operative, for example, the Beijing South Station, Guangzhou South Station and Chengdu East Station. The development of High-speed Railway has also introduced high pressures on the safety and organization of passenger transport in these High-speed Railway stations. Concerning that, the studies on the safety risk of passenger transport in High-speed Railway stations by risk management and system engineering would contribute to the improvement of safety management in these stations. In this thesis, the experiences and results in risk managements from aviation, urban subway, natural calamities and engineering project have been drawn to study the passenger transport safety in High-speed Railway stations in China. The research comprised four parts:1. Based on the principles of hazard identification, we established the models for hazard identification in High-speed Railway stations. These sources of hazards were categorized into human factor, equipment factor, environment factor and management factor.2. We defined the safety risk coupling of passenger transport in High-speed Railway stations and summarized the types of risk coupling, the coupling relationships between hazard sources were analyzed by Hierarchy structure based on Analytic Network Process Model.3. We establish the risk evaluation system in High-speed Railway station based on the hazard identification and estimate the risk evaluation of passenger transport in High-speed station based FAFG Method. The results indicated the Risk Value and Risk Level of emergencies in High-speed Railway stations. Corresponding risk-aversion and damage control methods were proposed.4. The hazard identification, risk coupling model and risk evaluation model were applied in the accident of stampede in Chengdu East Station. The methods in risk control were proposed according to the results. These results provided grounded supports for the safe operation in Chengdu East Station.
