The hollow slab structure system is a new structural system with advantages in reducing structural weight, reducing earthquake effects, improving sound insulation, and saving energy when compared with the traditional solid plate. It can also reduce the total building cost and improve the functionality. At present hollow slab structures have been widely used in big span structures in office buildings, commercial buildings, large exhibition centres, libraries, multi-story car parks, other public buildings and large residential buildings. It has great prospects for the future. Research on methods of structure design optimization is an important part of the design theory. The current research on design optimization of hollow slab structures still uses traditional optimization methods. Based on previous research, I have used algorithms to optimize the cost of the box type hollow slab structure design. The main work is as follows:1、 The author provided the cast-in-situ box type hollow slab design with structure cost optimization theory. Based on calculation methods of cast-in-situ box type hollow slab structures, the author built a design cost optimization mathematical model, a cast-in-situ box section optimization method and a genetic algorithm design cost optimization method. The author also gave out the design optimization process and provided new ideas for cast-in-situ box type hollow slab structure design optimization.2、 The central component of the cast-in-situ box type hollow slab structure is the cast-in-situ box type hollow floor. The author studied the design cost optimization using a genetic algorithm based on the stress characteristics of cast-in-situ box type hollow floor construction, set up a number of cost optimized design models. The author also gave out the genetic algorithm optimization operation manual and described the problems of using the genetic algorithm to optimize design. Finally, The author gave out the flow chart of the optimization method and the program.3、 The author introduced the minimum cost structure design optimization process by analysing the cast-in-situ box type hollow slab structure design optimization examples. The author analysed and compared the results of optimization and discussed the factors that influence the optimal results. Calculation and theoretical analysis shows that the cast-in-situ box type hollow floor structure design cost optimization method is reasonable and feasible; this project has a certain practical significance.
