Grid fins is made up of an outer frame and many thin grid walls, due to its specialstructure make it compared with traditional flat wings have many advantages such as: goodlift characteristics、small hinge moment、small tangential dimension、easy to fold、control andso on.. It can be used as a stable surface, and also can be used as the control plane, butresistance is large, therefore cannot be widely used. In this paper, aiming at with differentforward-swept and back-swept angles and with airfoil profile structure grid fins inresearching、analyzing and simulating their characteristics of drag reduction. For the different forward-swept and back-swept angles grid fins, in the Mach numberfrom0.6to1.2and the forward-swept and back-swept angles from25°to45°using the numericalsimulation. The results showed that the grid fins which have forward-swept and back-sweptangles have better drag reduction characteristics, what’s more, the forward-swept grid finshave much better aerodynamic characteristics than the back-swept one under subsonic. For the grid fins with airfoil profile structure also have forward-swept and back-sweptangles, take forward-swept angles for40°, within the scope of Mach number is0.6to2.0using the numerical simulation. The numerical calculation results show that the grid fins withairfoil profile structure have more drag reduction characteristics than the grid fins withoutairfoil profile structure. Meanwhile, with the forward-swept grid fins have better aerodynamiccharacteristics. The above studies show that with forward-swept and back-swept angles and with airfoilprofile structure can effectively improve the characteristics of large resistance of grid fins, canplay an effect roles in reduce the resistance and increase the lift.
