Pneumatic technology has a number of advantages, such as high efficiency, low cost, less pollution, easy maintenance, and has been widely used in industrial production, it is one of the effective measures in the production process of mechanization and automation. With the continuous development of sensor technology and communication technology, there are higher requirements for the characteristics of pneumatic system at low speed. Computer simulation technique has been widely used in research, military, education, industry, traffic etc, it has very important significance to establish the simulation model of pneumatic system and research on friction characteristics of cylinder at low speed.Gas flow rat, temperature and pressure first order differential equations are derived by using gas state equation and thermodynamic equation etc, Analysis on friction and crawl mechanism from tribology viewpoint, combined with Stribeck effect and Karnopp subsection model to create mathematic model of cylinder friction, lay a theoretical foundation for establishing pneumatic components and system simulation model.Based on the mathematic models, taking cylinder of SMC CEP1and on-off valve of SMC VQ100as physical models, establish component simulation models in AMESim, and build verification model to test component models. Basing on the advantages of building model simply and conveniently in AMESim and handling date ability of Simulink, establish the co-simulation model in AMESim and Simulink. Operate simulation model to test the control section in Simulink.Study on friction characteristics of pneumatic system at low speed by using co-simulation model. Observation on velocity fluctuation and response speed under different working pressure, loads and diameters to judge crawling situation of cylinder, summarize the variation of friction characteristics under those conditions.
