In this paper,on the basis of water diversion Project from the Han River to the Wei River, considering the early research results, we do a more systematic analysis of ground stress and rock burst, based on the geological conditions in this area, the ground stress testing and rock mechanional tests, the anti analysis of ground stress and two times stress simulation of the tunnel. We have obtained the following research results mainly:(1)By the tests of ground stress, the ground stress status in the engineering rockmass has been ascertained and the systematic recognition of the ground stress field in the area has been attaind:the current state of ground stress field in the surveyed area is mainly squeezed from the direction of NW and maximum principal ground stress directions are generally N30°W~N46°W.(2)According to rock test(include rock mechanical tests, conventional triaxial compression tests, rigid triaxial tests),rockbursts may occur in the mechanical properties of lithology and strength during the tunnel excavation process.(3)Numerical calculation shows that: with the depth increasing,Max. principal stress、 intermediate principal stress and min. principal stress are increased.Max.principal stress in deeper-buried tunnel is10~45MPa,intermediate principal stress is10-25MPa,min. Principal stress is0~15MPa.(4)We get the criterion of rock burst by the ground stress conditions (initial stress, secondary disturbance stress) and lithology conditions (rock uniaxial compressive strength, rock integrity coefficient, compressive strength and tensile strength ratio) from the occurred rockburst and previous research results.
