Firstly, through specific calculations, the thesis concludes the topological characteristics of railway network and analyzes its correlation with social economy. A research on extension principle and evolution mechanism of railway network is conducted to provide theoretical and decision-making basis for planning railway network scientifically, drafting construction sequence properly and optimizing network effectively, which plays quite an important role for developing and improving railway network.Secondly, railway network of different periods in our country are established to analyze the changing trend of network characteristics under the condition of continual evolving with the use of Pajek software. Then a comparison is proposed to study the development trend of social economy over the same period, which clarifies the interrelation between the expansion of railway network and the development of social economy.Thirdly, with the socio-economy system sequences consisting of per capita income, per capita GDP, and employment within the tertiary industry and the network of railway lines sequences consisting of average degrees of network, average distances and clustering coefficient, the thesis calculates the correlation, analyzes the coupling effects and draws the connecting curves based on the grey correlation theory. According to the former analysis, it is confirmed that the development of social economy is positively correlated to the expansion of railway network. Finally, based on the coupling effects between railway network and social economy as well as the internal relation between railway network and train flow network, a double-layer network evolution model of regional scale is established, with the customer demands of regional railway as the upper-layer network and passenger train flow network of regional railway as the under-layer network. Then, by adding and removing vertexes, the thesis designs the evolution mechanism of connections, weight of vertexes and weight of edges, as well as the influence mechanism between the upper-layer and the under-layer networks. In the end, an algorithm aimed at the former model is established as well.
