With the vigorous development of China’s traffic cause, the highway tunnels tend to be longer and more complicated. In the underground of vigorously promoting energy conservation and environmental protection, and establishing economical type society, it’s crucial to research a new ventilation technology of long highway tunnel. Based on Lianghe tunnel, this paper does detailed research on key technical problems of the twin tubes complementary longitudinal ventilation system when the wind volume demand of twin tubes is quite asymmetric, and gains following achievements:(1) Achievements on the design theory, method and factors of twin tubes complementary ventilation system. This paper analyzes the factors that result in the asymmetry of wind volume demand of twin tubes; proposes the network analytical method for the twin tubes complementary ventilation system, and deeply analyzes the factors that affect the complementary ventilation system; after trail and comparison, decides the location of inter-exchange air cross channel and the inter-exchange air volume. Combined with the analysis and comparison with ventilation system of Lianghekou tunnel, it obtains that the complementary ventilation system can reduce energy consumption of ventilation system, but has a high demand on ventilation control system.(2) It uses the FLUENT to simulate the ventilation system. Combined with the actual situation of the Lianghekou tunnel, this paper uses the three-dimensional simulation to calculate the airflow distribution under different structure form of inter-exchange air cross channel, and gains that installing the jet fans in the inter-exchange air cross channel in tunnel can’t meet the ventilation requirements. It need to build the supply and exhaust tract and install the axial fan.
