Hybrid electrical vehicle has attracted attention due to its potential to improved fueleconomy and lower emissions. In this context, the paper studied the usage of PMSM onhybrid electrical vehicle and the requirements for PMSM output characteristics. The paperalso studied the PMSM vector control Research status. On this basis, the paper selected theIPM as research object and used sophisticated motor control theory to achieve control ofmotor speed and torque, and to make the motor maintain a constant torque output duringlow speed and a constant power output during high speed.The paper derived the torque equation of the motor and the equations of voltagecomponents in the dq coordinate system, laying the foundation for the study of motorcontrol strategies.This second part studied the motor control strategy. To improve the efficiency of themotor, in the constant torque operating mode the torque command which is the output ofspeed controller, is decomposed to idand iqalong the maximum torque-per-ampere(MTPA)trajectory until the current regulator begins to saturate. The paper has given a method for thesolving of the trajectory. As the speed is getting higher during acceleration, the IPMSM getsinto the constant power operation mode. Flux weakening controller ensures the margin ofthe voltage and increases the d-axis current toward the negative direction to preventsaturation of the current regulators and the flux weakening operation is accomplishedautomatically.The third part designed the speed proportional-integral controller and the current dqproportional-integral controllers for vector controlled IPMSM according to the theory usedin the DC motor. In addation, a antiwindup strategy for proportional-integral regulator basedon the back-calculation method is present.To examine the model of the vector control and the design of proportional-integralcontroller, simulation was conducted, and the results have been presented.
